Gore Center Exhibits

The Gore Center staff developed "Veterans Oral Histories: Global Service, Individual Stories," using the large oral history collections at the Gore Center to depict the global service of Tennesseans in the armed force, while maintaing personal perspectives through their voices. The exhibit was also designed to provoke the ways we think about oral histories and memory.

The "Warriors with Words and Faith: Marion Skeen Coleman Peck and Donald A. Price" exhibit tells the stories of two very distinct individuals whose personal experiences humanize some of America's most dramatic events of the twentieth century.

For both exhibits, I was responsible for selection, labeling, and fabrication of the two object displays, which further the stories of these remarkable people through the objects in their collections.

The exhibit opening on December 4, 2014, made all the work well worth it when we got to meet Marion's grandchildren and Mr. and Mrs. Price. The exhibit will reside at the Gore Center and will be a foundation for future public programming.
